BUILD COMMUNITY | GET PUBLISHED | SUPPORT AUTHORS
Striking Down the Publishing Gates
Registration Ends November 20, 2024
Have you noticed the vicious cycle of publishing - editors want authors who have been previously published, but how does one get started? Answer: community.

At Lightning Ink Press Co., we're passionate about leveling the playing field. Our non-profit independent press is publishing stories that have something to say, and one of the ways we're funding this venture is by creating writer communities and offering publishing opportunities in a unique way.

HOW IT WORKS:
Participants will submit approximately 3,000 words (~12 pages) with their registration and be placed into groups of three or four writers based on the preferences indicated on registration forms. Together, you'll workshop these pieces, providing the authors with (encouraging) critiques, thoughtful responses and meaningful discussion about the work to help them craft a final submission, each of which will appear in a special edition of Strikes Twice, our community anthology, which releases about one month after the program ends. Each participant will receive a complimentary copy of the anthology.

Not only will you gain valuable experience in the publishing process and create valuable writing community, but you'll be directly supporting other authors, as the tuition fees from this program will help fund advances for those on our author list, launching in 2025.

NEXT REGISTRATION DEADLINE: November 20, 2024
