Lightning Ink Press Co. is a newly founded 501(c)3 nonprofit literary press dedicated to sharing stories that have something to say. We exist to dismantle the traditional gates keeping crucial voices out of the publishing industry, and doing so in a way that is equitable and author focused, centering works challenging traditional narratives and creating a dynamic that pays authors what they are worth.

Position Summary
The Fundraising Coordinator will play a key role in the development and implementation of fundraising efforts, including individual giving, donor relations, and grant management. This position requires strong organizational skills, a creative approach to fundraising, and a commitment to the mission of Lightning Ink Press Co. The ideal candidate will be passionate about literature, skilled in donor engagement, and capable of helping develop strategies for long-term financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Engagement & Stewardship:

Establish and oversee fundraising board

Assist in identifying, cultivating, and stewarding relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.

Maintain a donor database and track donor engagement, contributions, and giving history.

Draft thank-you letters, acknowledgements, and donor reports to ensure timely and personalized communication with donors.
Fundraising Campaigns:

Assist in developing and executing fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, online giving campaigns, and capital campaigns.

Coordinate donor outreach efforts and monitor campaign progress to meet fundraising goals.

Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to create engaging campaign materials and content.
Grant Support:

Assist with the research and identification of grant opportunities.

Collaborate with the Grant Writer to ensure the timely submission of grant applications, including compiling required information and ensuring that all deadlines are met.

Monitor progress on funded projects and assist with reporting back to funders.
Data Management & Reporting:

Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all donations and donor interactions.

Assist in preparing fundraising reports and analyze donor data to assess fundraising efforts and identify areas for improvement.

Assist in developing strategies to increase donor retention and acquisition.
Collaborate with the Development Team:

Work closely with the Executive Director, Development Director, and other team members to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.

Assist with the development of fundraising materials, including case statements, proposals, and donor impact reports.
Research Funding Opportunities:

Conduct research to identify new fundraising opportunities, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and partnership opportunities.

Track and report on trends in nonprofit fundraising and make recommendations for new initiatives.
Event Planning & Execution:

Coordinate logistics for fundraising events, including literary events, galas, author readings, silent auctions, and virtual fundraisers.

Support event promotion and marketing efforts to increase participation and attendance.

Track event expenses and revenues, ensuring successful financial outcomes.
Desired Skills

Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to craft compelling messages for donors and supporters.

Proficient in, or ability to adopt proficiency, to donor management systems in addition to Microsoft Office and related software.

Experience in event planning and coordinating logistics for fundraising events.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Creativity and Initiative: A proactive approach to problem-solving and generating new fundraising ideas.

Attention to Detail: Ability to manage donor information and fundraising data with accuracy and care.
